About this book

Description

The business realities of the Colombian Caribbean are examined in relation to the 2030 Agenda through twelve chapters addressing complementary dimensions of organizational sustainability. The analysis considers the region's productive and social diversity, including port cities, logistics corridors, tourist destinations, creative industries, commercial activities, and informal economic sectors, to explore how sustainability is incorporated into organizational decisions concerning investment, employment, innovation, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and governance. The thematic areas encompass tax culture and business formalization; entrepreneurship and informality; sustainable finance; internationalization and competitiveness; logistics and supply chain management; innovation and technological transformation; dynamic capabilities and organizational resilience; the circular economy; sustainable tourism; corporate social responsibility; human resource management; and business ethics and governance. Academic literature and institutional documents provide the foundations for conceptual models and organizational maturity pathways whose applicability and effectiveness require empirical validation. Sustainable organizational development is understood as a multidimensional process that depends on human capabilities, institutional integrity, coordinated governance, and a context-sensitive understanding of territorial opportunities and structural inequalities. Within this perspective, the 2030 Agenda serves as a strategic framework for integrating economic, social, and environmental considerations into organizational management, strengthening accountability, and translating sustainability commitments into measurable and verifiable outcomes.
