This instrumental, cross-sectional and exploratory study carried out a preliminary review of a ten-item scale with two dimensions, coastal space quality and psychological recovery by the sea, administered in the pilot survey of project FZ-HAB-0006 of the Factoriza UAS platform to users of coastal public spaces in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. A preliminary cut of 12 cases, out of a target of 100, was analyzed with descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha, McDonald's omega, inter-item correlations, an exploratory factor analysis reported only as documentation, and the Spearman correlation between dimensions. Recovery showed an alpha of .849, supported by its direct items, whereas its reverse-worded item departed from the dimension; quality showed an alpha of .109, suggesting that it groups heterogeneous attributes. Shade for resting was the lowest-rated attribute (M = 2.08), and forgetting one's worries was the recovery state with the highest mean (M = 4.17). The correlation between dimensions was close to zero (ρ = -.038). The results do not estimate the properties of the scale, but they guide its revision before the final data cut.
